Oxenholme β†’ Windermere branch (~19 min), then 505 bus to Coniston (~60 min)

Lazy start. Swim in Coniston Water directly off the campsite shore.

Old Man of Coniston β€” 803m summit, ~4–5 hr round trip. Jim's done it before.

Disposable BBQ at camp, then pub dinner in Coniston village. Drinks back by 11pm.

πŸ’‘ Tarn Hows optional: Jim recommends it β€” a high-altitude lake walk with incredible views, though it's a steep climb. Good alternative if knees are feeling sketchy after the big hike.

Slow start. Swim in Coniston Water from the jetty. Kayak or paddleboard hire available nearby.

Fish & chips in Coniston village. Up north prices β€” expect ~Β£8–10 a head. Way cheaper than London.

Village explore, browse local shops. Or a gentler walk around the lake shoreline path.

Bus 505: Coniston β†’ Windermere (arrives 11:49am). Don't miss it β€” next one is ~2 hrs later.

Windermere β†’ Oxenholme branch (~20 min), connect to main line
